085. (I accept thy challenge!)

I don't have some pretty picture from Jennifer of Jasifers Lions Club as my entry header, but hey, she tagged me and I accept this challenge. I seldom do these little blog tag-thingies because I have nothing to say or I simply just forget it and it's lost in the abyss forever.

Tv shows I watch:
I don't watch much TV but when I do it's these things (and don't laugh!):
- 48 Hour Mystery
- Dateline
- Degrassi: The Next Generation (see why I asked you not to laugh at me, hehe.)
- Maury Povich
- Top Chef
- Project Runway

I'll have to narrow it to those. :p I usually watch cooking shows when I have time though..

4 This I've done today:
- Go shopping with dad, brother and bf.
- Scored myself a new Wacom tablet, thanks daddy! *muah* :)
- Had delicious Curry Beef Stew from Fortune Cooking.
- Got the Sims 3 expansion packs from bf -- a "just because" present. ^_^ Love you Gab.

4 Things I can't wait for:
- My weekend trip with my best friends and boyfriend down south in Fargo this weekend!
- For my week to already be over, and it hasn't even begun yet.
- My next pay.
- To move out of this condo!

4 Things I wish for:
- A huge walk-in closet to put all my goodies in.
- To eat chocolate and not gain a bajillion kilograms. Not that there's nothing wrong, it's just I'd feel less guilty stuffing my face with chocolate, ha ha.
- That my prescription wasn't so horribly high so I could alternate glasses much easier.
- That I get more hours next semester for my job! It'd be a dream come true.

4 Things I hate:
- Being ignored. I'm so needy, I need attention from my loved ones, please.
- People who feel the need to be so rude just because they get more hours/may get more pay than you... and it's the same f*ing job, literally. Seriously, why so rude? :P
- Being forced to do things I REALLY don't want.
- Repetitive noise. It bothers me so much. I would go insane!

I challenge:
Whoever hasn't done this yet. Feel free to do so! xo I'd love to read your responses.

084. (Simple n' Clean)

I don't wear dresses all the time. Especially in the colder seasons. Especially when I go out to shop. I didn't feel like wearing my Doc Martens (the only shoes I have at my dads I brought) but I found my old pair of red plaid flats. I went shopping to Old Navy yesterday and found a whole bunch of striped boatneck longsleeves for $5 (and it's still on sale if you go TODAY, since it's their Halloween sale, a bunch of stuff for $5!)

I love stripes. I have a whole section in my closet for striped stuff. I don't care if people think it makes me look wider. I'm already wide, I'll wear what I want.

Top Old Navy | Jean Jeggings Dorothy Perkins | Shoes Spring Shoes

I actually quite like this look and I usually dress like this when I go to school because sometimes you have to rush and you have a no fuss look. Just tie your hair in a bun and put on a pair of bottoms and a top and away you go.

I wear a lot of red and blue and white, don't I? PS: I hope you're not tired of me with this bag. I just love it so so so much.

083.

I know, I know, I've been a bad blogger.
Reasons for my lack of posting:

1. Camera isn't charged.
2. Life.

Okay, I know I shouldn't be making excuses but STILL. I have yet to announce my 2nd giveaway which I SHOULD be doing, but I don't have my camera to take pictures of the stuff (and I'm not home, I'm actually at my dads place.)

So the pictures here are all taken from my dads camera.

Dress and Jacket ASOS Curve | Shoes Doc Martens | Tights The Bay | Bag Memory Lane Shop

So cute, I got my bag (which is a blatant Alexa ripoff, I know. Can't afford the real thing.) from Memory Lane Shop. :D It's big and I can put my 13 inch Macbook inside of it. It's been good to me so far, that's for sure!

The weather is gloomy outside in Winnipeg. We had snow yesterday and it's cold. Bleh, such is life right?

Here's a picture of my boyfriend to end this entry.

I will be putting the giveaway soon, I promise my readers! xo

081. (Giveaway 1 out of 3.)

Hello everyone! I'm pleased to announce that I'm doing 3 giveaways! My first items up for grabs are these Ricki's bubble hem skirts. :) I snagged myself one and I want to give two lucky readers the opportunity to have one! This is completely sponsored by me. I had bought these skirts actually a few weeks back but I wanted to do a series of giveaways so I waited until I got more stuff.

So up for grabs is two Ricki's skirts, but two lucky readers will get one of the two. They're different colours: black (not pictured sorry guys, my camera is dead so this stock picture will have to do) and this nice olive green.

The size for the black skirt is XXL (equivalent size 18) and the second one is XL (Size 14-16 equivalent). However, these skirts have an elastic waistband and can fit a variety of sizes. It also looks good with tights and worn high waisted -- it looks cute! XXL can fit an XL size for sure (at least a size 14) and an XL can fit a size 12 and upwards to a size 18 even. Just giving you a reference of sizing! (I believe Ricki's does run large, since this skirt is elastic I could guess the black skirt could even fit comfortably a size US 24!) So the sizing is pretty flexible.

All you have to do is comment with your name and e-mail, and what skirt you want! For fun, I want to see how you'd wear the skirts and what you'd pair it with! However, all people that apply in this giveaway are entered for both the skirts.

For additional entries:

  • Advertise on Twitter:  Hello everyone, @gazelma is holding a giveaway for 2 bubble hem skirts! Check it out at http://bonjourgazel.com !
  • Follow me on Twitter. Please state your Twitter name.
  • Follow my blog via google reader.
  • Follow me on my Facebook page (which can be found on the left side of the blog!), please state your name when doing so.

Alright! This one will end in a week from now, then next week I will launch my second giveaway! Good luck to all!

Thank you for supporting me and my blog! It means a lot.

Edit:

  • For clarification -- EVERYONE in the world can enter this giveaway! But please leave your name and e-mail on the comments.
  • And there's only two colours... the Black one is size XXL and the Green one is XL. There is no black XL or Green XXL, etc.
  • The sizes are generous. Since the waistband itself is smaller and it stretches, XXL actually could fit a 14 to size 24 US. The XL could fit size 12 to 18/20, etc.
If you have anymore questions please ask!

080.

Another outfit post? You betcha. Actually, I wore this last weekend to my friend Tammy's house party. Tammy is like a wise plus size lady I know. She's fierce and beautiful, I would post a picture but I don't want to get in trouble! Let's just say she's a role model to me. She's intelligent and also dresses so beautifully for her figure! I envy her wardrobe.

Top and Cardigan Thrifted | Skirt ASOS | Belt Reitmans | Tights The Bay | Boots Thrifted

The outfit's nothing special, but hey, I documented it and I don't want to hide things from my blog. :p Also, sorry about the condition in the house. We're moving so we're packing a bunch of stuff.

I scored these awesome boots, it's a bit pricy at $15 but they're warm and comfy! I also was in a rush to tie my boots they look funny, but I tied them properly later in the night.

079.

Don'tcha hate it when your pictures turn out DISASTROUS? I couldn't save it really. :/ Too much bad lighting and contrast in the picture. The thing that bothers me the most in these sets are the blasted black spots. It usually doesn't show in other pictures, I suppose it's time I go for my annual camera cleaning.

I bought this jacket for $96 at Ricki's. It's a definite keeper for the winter months. Really warm and it's pretty as well!

Dress Mango | Jacket Ricki's | Tights The Bay | Shoes Thrifted

I found this awesome dress from Mango. I mean from afar you can't see the details but let me show you how pretty the detailing is...

Then I paired it with these super comfy tights I bought from The Bay for $3! Then these comfy shoes from a local thrift store.

Well, I wore this outfit to go out to see Jackass 3D with my bf and friend, then go eat at an Italian place I've never been to. Needless to say... I won't be going back. :( I barely eat non-Asian food, and this restaurant, albeit bad, but it has traumatized me enough not to eat any pasta or Italian food for a while. Here's some pictures -- it looks good but it was horrible. On top of that, horrific service.

At least the company was good, as they say! :p

078.

Hey all! I've just been up and down the last few days. The dreaded mid-term season is upon us and that's what I've been doing -- studying for it. Aside the obvious work and school work, haha. Also Thanksgiving was upon us as well. :p I hope all the Canadian readers had a good Thanksgiving. I am still in turkey coma, haha!

It's actually been up and down, the weather. One day it's hot to +26 C then it goes down to +14 C. So I was thrifting and found this black cardigan-like thing. It's so warm, cozy and comfortable! I only scored it for $3!

Cardigan, Pants and Shoes Thrifted | Belt Reitmans | Dress used as a Top Dorothy Perkins

Another thrifting luck... I thrifted some men's pants for $5. Fits great and has that structure and high waist feel I like. The only thing is I want to make the legs skinnier on the calves and get it hemmed.

These are by far one of the best thrifts I've gotten so far. These shoes were in brand new condition (with original stickers on it and everything) ... and I've been looking for cognac coloured oxfords FOREVER. Lo and behold, these babies were only $5! I love you Value Village.

I hope you guys are enjoying your week. Tomorrow is Friday, thank God!

077. (Very Recent Purchases & Wants)

Hey everyone! No outfit post today but I'm just sharing what I bought today. I actually went shopping at the mall, hehe!

I bought tights which looked like that. I went to the Bay and I was looking in the clearance section. They were open box but when I tried it on there's no holes, perfect condition. Best of all? Only $4. I also bought another pair of tights which I cannot find... heh.

I also bought 4 pairs of socks for $14. They're so cute too. ^_^

This peacoat from Ricki's. It'll be my new winter jacket. :p

Then I went on a shopping binge at ASOS. I couldn't resist with the mid-season sale they had going on! It was all only $100!

Then I'm still awaiting on my 2 "Alexa" looking bags from Memory Lane Shop ... I've been patient but I'm confident it will arrive.

Of course I will still be wanting stuff. Here's some stuff I wish I could buy from Evans. Alas, no money.

And the #1 thing on my wish list right now are a pair of brown brogues. I've looked everywhere but could not find my dream pair. :'(

Have a good weekend and a Happy Thanksgiving weekend to all the Canadians out there! What will you be gobbling up this Thanksgiving? xo

076. (Anniversary Brunch!)

I had such a good day today. Well this morning my boyfriend took us out to brunch to the Fort Garry Hotel in Winnipeg. In Winnipeg it's really famous for it's delicious brunch spread. Seriously there's everything under the sun. There's a plethora of salads, cold cuts, cheeses... then there's hot foods like bacon, sausage... eggs benedict! There's roast beef, dim sum and a whole load of breads and pastries. Then there's an omelette station and a bunch of fancy food like salmon and such. I won't even get to the desserts, let's just say there's so many! This isn't cheap by the way ... haha, it's my first time going and I'm just so amazed. I wish I got pics of the hotel but it's got beautiful character and it's just wonderful.

Above is what we ate. I couldn't finish everything (ie: the desserts mostly and the omelette for example) because it was just too much of a portion but I freaking loved the eggs benedict! Delicious!

Cardigan Thrifted, Gap. | Dress used as a top Lane Bryant | Skirt Winners | Shoes Thrifted

So here's the outfit I wore to this occasion. I wasn't sure how to wear this skirt and this top and I thought of it. The skirt was an amazing find. It was $10 at Winners and it's a size Medium! It fits me like a dream with TONS of room to spare. The Lane Bryant top I bought from someone online, again I wasn't sure how to wear it (it's more like a clubbing top) but I think I worked it beautifully. Sorry for the shitty quality pictures by the way. I lost my SD card for my DSLR and I had to use my dads point and shooter. :P

I am actually REALLY happy being with such an amazing guy for so long. I mean we have our ups and downs but we're still together through it all. Started off with a long distance relationship and now here we are together. I love you Gab! :)
