Everything Thrifted.

Gonna ease the tension here on my blog with an outfit I wore last Saturday. It was my cousins wedding and to be honest I don't own a lot of dresses that fit for that occasion. This was the closest I got.

I also have to gush that I love these platform shoes I got from Goodwill. SO comfortable. I'm also pleased that these days, a lot of my outfits are more thrifted than they are bought from a store at the mall. Go me! I also suck at accessorizing, that is probably my main weakness. How do you jazz up an outfit without going too overboard on accessories?

Until next time.

  3. I have never managed to find any dresses at the thrift store that a) don't look like mumus and b) fit me. One day I will find one, though. Mark my words. =)

  4. basic accessories in a bright colour! like belts, shoes, tights, etc.

  5. I accessorize based off of focal points of the outfit. In this case the dress has cute ruffles at the neck and wrists, so I wouldn't try and add a necklace or bracelet. I would probably do earrings and a cute handbag for this one.

  6.     Love the polka dots. (My closet is lacking anything dotted, which means I am riveted to the screen whenever someone shows how chic and classic it can be. Moving "anything polka-dotted" to the top of my thrifting list ...)
I like Cassykin's advice. I also avoid wearing too much in one area of the body - if I'm wearing a flashy ring, I usually skip the bracelets; if I'm wearing a statement necklace, I go with small, understated earrings or none at all. Of course, it depends on personal style -- some people pile it on and rock it. :)

  9. SOOOO adorable! UGH! I could just eat you up... I love the dress. I can't believe everything is thrifted. That is such a cute dress. With this, I wouldn't do anything overpowering; a dainty gold necklace or bracelet, small earrings. The dress stands alone. I would love to see it with an updo.

  13. A bright clutch would add a pop of color to the outfit. I agree that the dress has too much going on at the neck and wrists to try a bracelet or necklace.

  14. I do not know if I will ever get over your sassy adorableness. For serious! (Also, great call on the goodwill shoes!  People don't know what they're missing!)

Personally, I try to use a really BOLD accessory, like a scarf... That or wear a bold bright pair of shoes and a purse the pops!

  15. I accessorize with scarves and rings, or bracelets. Or, a simple but elegant hair style can really get the jazz groove going. :)
