244. (Philippines 2012 - Part One)

I think I've spammed all my social media outlets (including my blog) - long enough for everyone to know I went to the Philippines. I had such a blast! My nice family is there (of whom I still miss very dearly) and the places to eat and shop are endless. I miss grabbing a bite to eat whenever I want and for so little money. Food in Canada just doesn't compare... here I am, ranting about food again. Moving on...

My family (my paternal family) live in Valenzuela City, a city beside Manila and is located in the Metro Manila). For the majority of my stay, I was in Valenzuela. Luckily we had a car so we could go around whenever we wanted. Of course, I went shopping and hurt my feet so much from walking - but it was well worth it.

Since I have so many pictures of my trip, I've decided to divide blog entries into different parts. This part is documenting the first part of my trip which was spent shopping in Manila. It's mostly food pictures, lol. The pictures aren't the best quality right now because of the crappy camera I carried around... it gets better later.

At the airport with my mom and my brother. The dress is from ASOS and is currently on sale.

En route to Vancouver! You can see the Canadian Rockies from my window.

SM Valenzuela Mall is regarded as a 'micro mall' in the Philippines. It's sad because our local mall here in Winnipeg is smaller! I guess in comparison to the malls back home, we're extra-micro!

We then went to Fort Santiago, which is a touristy place in Manila. Full of history on Jose Rizal (the 'hero' of the Philippine) and the like here. It was very hot so that's probably why I don't look too happy. The dress is also from ASOS.

Statue of Jose Rizal.

We then went to Manila Ocean Park. It's an aquarium. I sadly didn't get good pictures because I'm dumb and left my SLR at the house.

The following day we went shopping to Greenhills in Quezon City, and we stopped by a Singaporean restaurant and had some Xiao Long Bao and some noodles. Xiao Long Bao is a soup dumpling, and this was good! There were also some spicy noodles which was also delish.

We stopped by SM Mall of Asia and I went into the Sanrio Store and bought some goodies.

We got hungry and stopped by Karate Kid, lol. It's a Japanese fast food place. We got the takoyaki, some tuna sashimi and tonkatsu-don.

I thought it'd be fun to take a picture. People here take Bingo really seriously. There's always a Bingo place in every mall.

I bought macarons at the French baker!

Eventually we went to Enchanted Kingdom. It's the biggest amusement park in the Philippines.

I like arcades so I went to the arcade in Enchanted Kingdom and won 3 plush toys!

There's many more to come. Thank you for reading! Also, thank you for all the congratulations last post - we both appreciate it!
