Today, I realised I missed school. I never realised it until today, really. I went to school today to meet up with a friend. Walking around campus, seeing the classrooms - everything. I just miss the environment and the feeling of 'doing something' ... being occupied. Is it weird to say I miss the stress academia puts on me? It's not just that - but opportunities and excuses to wear 'nice things' can be done at school.

It's fun being at home and all, but I admit I sit around in my underwear or leggings with an oversized sweater doing (almost) nothing all day.
I relish the days I can go out. I don't drive because I'm too much of a chicken, and my fiance works days. There's only so much work I can do during the summer - sure, I read, but I don't work as much because of the lack of hours.
Only two more months! I know I'll regret saying this once school hits and I'm stressed beyond measure.

Ha, that's exactly it! I HATE DOING NOTHING. It gives me anxiety attacks and literal headaches. It's actually quite hot here (in the 20s - 30s C) but since you're in Michigan (I believe) that heat wave must be insane! I hope it passes. x

ReplyDeleteI can't say that I miss going to school, but I used to have a few chosen activities that I miss now. I'm in a similar boat as you - I don't drive, don't work, I just try to keep busy around the house. A family friend actually gave me the title of "stay at home daughter". haha It's so true though!! I guess just relish in the quiet/non-stressful moments you have now and make the best of it. :)
