Stress. Stress. Stress. This is pretty much what I've been feeling 24/7 now. (Though I should get used to it since I'm aspiring for grad studies...) Part of this stress is from my 3 jobs (yes, I have 3 jobs), another is my school work, and another is the fact that I LOST MY CELLPHONE. I am in extreme panic mode right now. Oh, and I'm renewing my passport because I am going on a trip in the next few months. Blah! I can't wait for reading week.

I apologise to you all that I have not updated in a while. To be honest, I wish I could be dressing all whimsically with dresses, skirts, tights, and the shoes I want but I can't. This miserable Winnipeg winter leaves me to pick between function and style (though some of you might be wondering, "What the hell, function? She's wearing tights and shorts!" (It's comfortable and not that cold, trust me.) I wear my Doc Martens and other boots in exchange for those oxfords I long to wear. SOON, it's almost March.

So yes. This is what I've been wearing most of the time. Some variation of shorts and tights with a sweater and/or cardigan. My hair is this curly naturally. It's actually getting pretty long so I think I like it like this. Oh, and I'm growing out my fringe again ~~though I will probably end up making it blunt again~~.

So now that I've divulged my ~~inner-most secrets~~ ... how are you all? I miss blogging. I miss dressing up. Once spring arrives, I'll be seizing the opportunity. For now, this is what I got until the weather stops being ridiculous, and the streets stop being extra slippery.

I know it's been an eternity since I posted on this blog. I apologize for this - as I am very swamped in school work, my job, and then catching my moms flu and acquiring an ear infection all in the past few weeks. I'm feeling a bit better now, thanks to some rest and medication. To celebrate going outside (in such nice weather too) I went out with my boyfriend for dinner, doing a bit of thrifting, then we went to see The Woman in Black with Daniel Radcliffe in it. (To be honest it wasn't as I was hoping... but it's worth it alone for the costume porn.)

My outfit is not terribly exciting. To be honest it's my uniform to go to school. These days I like wearing shorts and tights rather than skirts or pants. Pants feel too constricting, while skirts feel like I'm going to moon someone because of the wind. I also got my sweater from ASOS, and I love it - right amount of bagginess, and my search for the perfect slouchy black knit sweater is done here.

Anyways. I hope to be posting regularly again soon. Once all my stuff passes, I'll be able to breathe easy. Plus, reading week is almost here too!

Top Old Navy | Leggings and Boots Target | Scarf and Jacket Forever 21

This is the type of outfit I would wear if I were going to school in a hurry to get dressed. I love the simplicity of a long sleeve, leggings, and knee-high boots. I've always, until recently, been on the hate brigade on leggings as pants but honestly, I'm converted. So comfortable, and I am able to move around much easier than a skirt (in the winter at least) or constricting denim.

I wore this to go browse around, since I was bored at home with no readings or homework to do at once. I wanted a no-fuss outfit and this is definitely it!

This is an outfit I wore yesterday for class and to go out with my boyfriend. Yes, it's nothing too exciting, but still. I really was tired and did not feel like putting on makeup or doing anything fancy. We've been spoiled with above 0 C temperatures and it was approximately -14C yesterday, I did not feel like putting on tights so I wore leggings instead. I've also been dying to wear this tunic I got from Old Navy. I'm not a huge fan of navy or blue as much as other colours - however, it's a nice surprise I don't look that bad in blue!

222. (GEO Nudy Brown Circle Lens Review)

The following contact lenses I will be reviewing for this entry is the Geo Nudy Series, again, from Honeycolor.com! These lenses were my first ever circle lenses and I wear these ones often. Again, before I begin with the review, here are some disclaimers:

1. I have astigmatism but the lenses I use are non-toric because they are more inexpensive than the toric kinds. HOWEVER, I spoke to my optometrist before ordering spherical lenses and he said it was okay. ALWAYS consult your optometrist before getting contact lenses fitted. Usually, the diameters on the circle lenses are 8.6 base curve (that's the average, apparently, for a person) - but if you are unsure still, I'd arrange for a contact lens fitting.
2. I did not get paid to do these reviews. Some curious readers asked me about circle lenses and I did tons of research on Google as well before buying these.
3. For more information I recommend Soompi's circle lens faq. Super helpful and informative.
4. Another note, these are prescription lenses. Again, order the right prescription before you order. If you do not wear prescription most circle lenses come in "plano" (0.00 power, pretty much) if you just want for purely cosmetic reasons. All the lenses I buy have prescription. Most lenses go up to -10.00. For reference, mine were (Left eye: -5.50, Right Eye: -6.50).

As stated above, these were my first ever circle lenses. I was gravitated to them due to the cool pattern that is shown on the website. The reviews all beamed at how natural these looked, and that was what I was going for: I wanted a natural looking circle lens that offered the "doll look" but still did not make it obvious. However, once out of the vial and in my eyes I noticed they did not look natural overall - but by no means did I dislike them.

Pros: These are absolutely beautiful circle lenses. It's unique with it's brown pattern, they will certainly make you stand out but not too much. It's not as obvious when you're far away, but when you're looking at someone in the eyes they will comment on it (and I have gotten comments on it!). They're also very comfortable for a contact lens - I was able to wear these (though not recommended for obvious reasons) for about 12 hours and I only needed to use eye drops a few times in the day. (Just to note I have dry eyes in general). The price is great for $17.00~ a pair as well!

Cons: Do not get these if you want a fully natural look. The pixelation on the lens makes it look reptilian-like, if I do say so myself. That's not a problem for me - but in particular, the browns are a very light brown and with flash, I remind myself of the Cullens (haha). Otherwise, no complaints here - they're comfortable, affordable, and cute.

If you feel like you've seen this picture before it is because I used it in an earlier entry some weeks ago.

I would order these again, and in fact, I will be once the expiry date kicks in. These are my go-to lens when I just want to look casual. There's no dramatic enlargement which makes it ideal if you don't want to look too alien-like or Lady Gaga-esque in the Bad Romance video.

Two days late, but better late than never! To keep it short and sweet, here's a wrap-up of my favourite outfits from 2011. It's nice to see some sort of gradual change in my style and appearance.

My hair was so short I could barely do a top knot with it! I have this jacket and it's still as fierce as ever.

I love this outfit more than words can say. It's weird, it's tacky, and it's lovely. HAHA. No shame in being tacky, ladies and gents. This image even got featured in Sociological Images to my surprise. My classmates told me that they found my picture on that website and I had to google it. Lo and behold, it's there. I'm sad because this picture is probably one of the rare instances in which the lighting was very favourable in the indoors.

Tacky glasses? Check. I think this whole tacky glasses addition to my wardrobe is one of the best yet, haha.

I love this dress but it's way too cold to wear it out right now! So I longingly admire it in my closet until I can wear it again...

My hair grew longer! I've begun to wear contacts! Haha. I didn't publish too many outfits in December - but despite this, I love this outfit. Looking at the picture reminds me that our December was not nippy at all.

New Years Stuff?

I got this lovely photo from The Nearsighted Owl. I LOVE it! It looks just like me, haha. :) I was lucky enough to be one of her subjects for her art, and I am forever grateful.

As for New Years resolution type stuff, I made some last year. One of them was to have at least one thrifted item in each outfit and I believe that was very successful. For this year, no resolutions in particular except to eat healthier (I am eating like shit lately) and to be more successful in school. Hah, pretty boring, that's pretty much my goal every time anyways. So I guess no resolutions there. :)

As promised, my first circle lens review on this blog! I've recently gotten into using circle lenses just because I wanted to try something different and I was tired of wearing heavy things on my face all the time.
I secretly (well not so secretly) love the ulzzang look (from my 'weeaboo' days, haha) and I've always been fascinated with circle lenses so I took the plunge and ordered some online. However, there are precautions with ordering contact lenses online, of course! Here's some important things I should note before I start on my review:

Comparison of enlargement

When I was a kid, I wanted green eyes. They're so beautiful and I'm forever envious of green eyed people, to be honest. Haha, anyways - that reason was obvious enough for me to order these lenses. They're a beautiful emerald green and they look as promised on the stock photograph on the website. After reading such high reviews on these series, I had to order it. I have ordered GEO medical lenses and they were by no means uncomfortable.

Pros: These lenses are beautiful and give very big enlargement. At 15 mm, it delivers. It's very green and they WILL make you stand out, especially if green is not your natural eye colour. So bravo on this part.

Cons: These lenses are VERY VERY uncomfortable. I can only wear them for a maximum of 6 hours before I decide to throw the towel. With it's 15 mm diameter, as with many circle lenses, they dry out your eyes very quickly with only a 38% water content on these particular contact lenses. I had to use eye drops multiple times and it still made it uncomfortable for me. They did not burn by any means, but you can tell when your eyes are tired.

Here's me making a pouty face and failing, lol.

Overall, I would not order the Bambi series again. They made my eyes obviously unnatural looking and for the discomfort - it is not enough for me to reach out and put on these pairs on the regular.

Tomorrow, it'll be the end of 2011! I can't believe the year flew by so quickly like that. It feels like yesterday I was spending my Christmas and New Years with my boyfriends family in Quebec - which was last year at this time. Crazy crazy.

The weather is nice despite there being snow on the ground. Enough for me to take pictures outside sans jacket, at least! I know a lot of people hate shorts with tights but I love them - it feels like wearing a skirt, and I don't feel self-conscious sometimes when the wind blows your skirt up. Paired with these really super-opaque and thick Addition-Elle tights, it's perfect!

Now that I'm finally done school, I can post outfits. Today I wore this out to go Christmas shopping (t'was a bust) and go on a date with my boyfriend because we haven't been spending time with each other since he works a lot and it was exam season - so it was nice to go out without exam anxiety looming over our heads. This outfit is fairly simple... no bells and whistles. Also, indoor shooting sucks (I forgot to use my other lens) so this is the only picture I have today.

Ugh. I KNOW I'm very late on this, but here's October's blogger for my Bonjour, ____ series.

My philosophy is more or less the same with shoes. Here's some designer footwear I am loving right now too. I've been coveting for these types of shoes for ages. I'm still looking for THE perfect, good quality black oxford (that is not patent) without breaking the bank. I'm not too crazy about shoe shopping - I wear the same shoes all the time to be honest. I like flat shoes with some details on it because I like walking comfortably. I don't believe in hurting myself for the sake of fashion, I just see no point into it!

What are some stuff you're coveting for this season? I just want a cute pair of brogues, a pair of black skinny jeans that are actually skinny (and don't cost $35 to ship to Canada) and the perfect high-waist a-line black skirt. Hi everyone, here's a new update for today. Did some holiday shopping and some errands. (Oh, and I'm playing the Sims 3 Pets currently. Love it.) Here's my outfit I wore today - super comfortable.

So, I'm still getting used to the contact lenses! It's just so weird seeing me without my glasses. I know I keep talking about glasses and my face, but glasses are like... my identity - my second skin! It's so weird. It's like my safety blanket, you know?

For those who are looking for over-the-knee socks and are Canadian (or live in NYC), look no further! Joe Fresh has $5 socks! Such a good deal. I really think that I gravitated to what people call 'boring' but I like to call it 'simple'. I remember when I first started this blog, I liked to be obnoxious (though I try to tone it down) and be a bit loud. I realise how quiet it has been on my side of the internet. I'm sorry about that! I've been looking VERY more-so-than-usual frumpy-licious (If that's even a word. It is now.) these days because of excessive working and going to school. I feel very bad for neglecting this blog so I might as well post a wishlist post from ASOS because I cannot stop salivating over their clothes. If only I won the lottery! Ha ha. Maybe I'll snag a few when they go on sale on Boxing Day? A girl can dream!

I think my aesthetic's changed. I still love white and yellow, but I find myself gravitating towards darker colours and neutrals. Maybe it's the weather - but I noticed my love for burgundy has skyrocketed lately! I used to hate darker colours but I've grown to like them. Well, obviously my style has changed since having this blog. That's what's awesome about it though, even though some past outfits are cringe-worthy it's still nice to see a progression!

Finally, an update!
The weather is actually quite nice enough for me not to go with a woolly coat, so I took the opportunity to snap some pictures outside because I hate taking pictures in my house. I was wearing a cozy jacket/chunkier cardigan on top but I decided to forgo without it for this picture.

Also, another thing I just wanna get off my chest: Don't you hate it when you wear white/a light colour and no matter how much you try, you STILL get something on your clothes? Grrr! So annoying. That's what happened to me like 4 hours after I took these photos. I'm not that much of a slob, I swear. Also... I just noticed that I have a red speck on my arm. I think it's a piece of fuzz from one of my red cardigans that decided to attach itself onto my polkadots.

200 entries! Wow. Time flies doesn't it. Also, it's my birthday today! To be honest I didn't do much today. I was at school the whole day and I am just so tired. I'll be going out with my family this weekend. I guess my time at school reflects my outfit. I guess it's "kind of boring" but this is what I normally wear to school ... some variation of it. It's still not cold enough for me to pull out my faux-fur coat yet. (Which is surprising given my city's reputation for being a deep-freeze.)

A word about my tights from One Stop Plus. I LOVE them. They're thick, warm, and perfect for the colder seasons. However, they are WAY too small. I usually order a 2X in my tights or 3X but even a 3X was WAY too small. Like... it barely fit my ass. Which is weird, but if you read the reviews it says it runs small. I guess I should read the reviews more often. Lesson learned. So I suggest sizing up... like two sizes of what you normally wear because it's ridiculous. I believe they also shrink in the wash, but I'm not quite sure.

I also want to gush about this sweater. Can you believe I got it for $2.99 at the thrift store?! It looks a lot like ASOS Curve's Textured Jumper but in red. Seriously. People are SO intimidated by thrifting but it's a lot of fun and you can find goodies. I promised to make a thrifting post, would you all still be interested in it?

Here's an outfit for today. It's chilly outside but not too chilly for me to layer myself in many layers of clothing. I bought another chunky knit sweater from the thrift shop ($5)! Can you tell that I'm obsessed with chunky knits? I've also been yearning for a yellow midi skirt since spring, and when Dorothy Perkins had this lovely skirt on sale I had to grab it quickly. One of my criticisms is that the skirt is a bit on the thin side as you can see, but it is still comfortable because of the elastic waist.

Did you also notice I cut my bangs to become blunt again? I feel like a quitter for doing so. I was growing out my bangs but I got so sick of it being in my face constantly that I went to the hairdresser across the street and chopped it off. I clearly have no self control in this regard.

I didn't dress up for Hallowe'en because I don't really celebrate it to be honest. I only like it for the candy. I guess if I had to go on a stretch I am a grandma. LOL.

I'm trying really hard to remix my items as you can see. I mean, isn't it obvious that my blog centres around remixing? Personally I'd rather wear a bunch of items over and over again than buy one dress or one garment and NEVER wear it again. My mission as a blogger was never to flaunt my new items each time I do a blog post, and it never will be my mission. This might be how other people run their blogs, but it's not how I run mine. I blog for myself, to keep progress of my personal style and personal growth as an individual and to meet like-minded people in the world. Besides, I'm one of those people who really LOVES and wears the hell out of the garment until I get sick of it.

Here's reasons why I remix:

1. It's more sustainable, less wasteful.
2. Forces you to think about your outfits.
3. I'm not rich. (I never intended this in the first place. I'm not trying to be a fashion blogger who flaunts a bunch of designer brands and wears Jeffrey Campbell Litas. That may be other bloggers prerogatives, but not mine!)
4. I like wearing the hell out of my stuff.

There's lots of great remix blogs out there. My favourite is Clothedmuch.com. Elaine is a great blogger and is PRO at making new looks with what little clothes she has. She is my inspiration, do check out her blog if you haven't yet!

In addition to remixing, I just like being cheap. I think I will make a post on thrifting and my overall frugality another time. Even though I have a lot of clothes, I don't pay a lot for garments. Everything Thrifted.

Gonna ease the tension here on my blog with an outfit I wore last Saturday. It was my cousins wedding and to be honest I don't own a lot of dresses that fit for that occasion. This was the closest I got.

I also have to gush that I love these platform shoes I got from Goodwill. SO comfortable. I'm also pleased that these days, a lot of my outfits are more thrifted than they are bought from a store at the mall. Go me! I also suck at accessorizing, that is probably my main weakness. How do you jazz up an outfit without going too overboard on accessories?

Perhaps I may just be ranting here, but this issue has been eating me up for a long time. If you look at my twitter you will see that I am ranting about how certain individuals (in general, no one specific) are hypocritical when it comes to the fat acceptance movement. I want to open up about this on my blog because it is my blog, and there will be political/rant pieces like this from time to time.

I am in the body acceptance movement. In the fat acceptance movement, whatever that may be. Some of you may not be active in it, some of you may, but I identify myself as a fat activist. I love my fat body and I am happy with who I am (though who am I to kid, sometimes you have those moments of nervous breakdowns) and I do not judge anyone elses body and health because who am I to judge? Why would I want to do to someone what I wouldn't want someone else to do to me?

Anyways, the reason for this is because I'm so sick of seeing fat individuals who happen to lose weight or happen to "diet" get attacked because of their lifestyle choices. Of course I understand triggers, of course diet talk will trigger some people - especially those on their self-acceptance journey. Why is it that when people make lifestyle choices or they are visibly smaller (in photographs) it is okay to criticize them - why is it that people can just accuse others of "betraying the fat acceptance community"?

See, this is where my frustration comes in.

The moment someone loses weight, or decides to take a lifestyle change for themselves - they are attacked. Of course people have the right to feel betrayed - sure, but to attack and flame someone for their own life choices? Isn't that a bit hypocritical? Actually, a lot hypocritical?

As fat people, we are oppressed in society. I'm sure we have had those times where we have been judged, made fun of, gotten rude comments about our bodies or our lifestyles (fat = lazy and eats McDonalds all day, amirite?) or we have even gotten the whole 'concerned-for-your-health' spiel.

So why, why does someone who experience this kind of oppression think it is okay to rag on someone about what they do with their bodies? With their lives? I personally feel that it is not in ANYONES position to make criticisms or comments about what they do in life. I get comments on how I should live my life. I hate it. So why would I do this same kind of thing to someone who decided to do something with their lifestyle? I live my lifestyle and yeah, it's unhealthy I'm gonna admit it - and I hate it when people think that it's just a free pass to go give me their opinion... especially about my body, especially about how I live my life.

Besides, the reasons for this lifestyle change may be different. Situations are different. Some people might go on a diet because of their health. Some might suffer from depression or something that ruined their appetite - but that's their own business, right? It's none of our business. Just like the reasons why we are fat is none of anyone elses business, or anything to do with our bodies and our health. Some people are fat because of health problems, or lack of fitness, or lack of exercise, genetics - whatever - the point is, why does it matter why we come to make the choices we do - it's who we are, what we decide and it's no one has the right to pry into your personal life like that.

My point is it's not okay to go and rag on about someones lifestyle choices if YOU don't like being ragged on yourself! It's body policing. I don't like being body policed, so why should I go and body police someone elses body?

Another thing that frustrates me to no end is the whole, "Curvy is sexy! Fuck those skinny bitches!" (You've seen those ads). I get that the intention may be to empower curvy women, but why is it necessary to bring down people with different bodies? It's not okay. It's still body shaming and body policing.

I thought the body acceptance movement was supposed to accept all bodies of different sizes. Don't get me wrong, I love what the FA community has done to empower me... but to bring down others because it does not fit your "ideal" of "fat" or any other body (acting as if it were some club) is not right to me.

In short - why do things to others that you wouldn't want done to yourself?

Oh, and I do understand the whole issue of talking about diets and such on fatshion blogs and how we want to avoid this issue. I'm on the fence about this... it's the persons blog but at the same time, fatshion blogs are supposed to be a safe space for body acceptance.

Thoughts? Do you have any other frustrations towards the blogging community? Pet peeves? Any input would be great and I encourage discussion here.

My inspiration for this outfit was to keep it simple. Oh, you're all probably sick of the bag I carry around... I can't help it. It's probably one of the best thrift finds EVER, fyi. (Besides the chunky knit sweater I have on in this outfit.) I believe I was successful. I wore this to go to the mall and find my boyfriend shoes... and reunite with a classmate whom I have not seen in years.

Everything is thrifted except the skirt which is from Forever 21+.

I've not much to say else... I wouldn't want to bore you all that I'm drowning in school work. Yeah.

As the title of this blog post suggests. It's a layered outfit. This is pretty much similar to what I wear to school when I am in a rush and don't know what to wear. Put on anything, get cardigan, grab any scarf, oh - and spray your hair with copious amounts of dry shampoo. I wore yesterday to class and then go on a sushi date plus a movie. The dress is from wholesale-dress, actually. It's pretty short and I wish I could show you guys the back because the dress is AWESOME... it has bows on it like this:

PRETTY ISN'T IT? Haha, well I think so. My only gripe is yeah, it's a bit short. Actually, not a bit short... but A LOT short. Then again it's made for petite women from Asia, so that should explain why the dress is so short. Otherwise I love it, it has pockets, and it's made of thick good quality fabric!

I can't believe it's been four years for me and my boyfriend! Time sure flies by. Today I spent my day eating... (unhealthily, I must admit. I went to my dad's house so we went out for lunch, then anniversary dinner with my boyfriend!) and thrifting, and just chilling at home.

For dinner I wasn't going anywhere too fancy, we actually went to the Old Spaghetti Factory in Winnipeg. Now I'm not a huge fan of pasta but I did like their spaghetti. It's a very nice family restaurant with a kitschy atmosphere, friendly service and very inexpensive food. I had the hunter's veal (pretty good!) and my boyfriend had ribs. Holy moly, were the portions ever gigantic. Hah.

So here's some pictures of our day... again, my outfit wasn't too fancy. Well, to be honest, it would've been if I hadn't put the jacket it'd feel a bit too fancy... but I think adding "rocker" jackets balance out an outfit to become casual.

Thanks to everyone on Twitter for sending kind thoughts about my brother. For those out of the loop, he was in the E.R. but he's okay now and he's doing well. Me on the other hand, I have caught a cold bug but that didn't stop me from going out to take pictures, lol. I went to do some errands but yeah. I regret it now sort of because I am a sniffling mess, haha.

I don't give this dress enough love. It's one of my favourites because the fabric is so comfortable, and it just looks "sweet", don't you think? And I love my pug... even though she looks sad. Haha.

Oh. I don't give my hair enough love too... I always burn it with heating products. Today I curled it so it looked wavy (even though I have naturally curly hair, lol.) instead of straightening because I find straightening hair makes my hair look greasy when I don't wash it!
I want to know... what are some hair techniques that you people know of that's "lazy" or at least it detracts from the fact that you didn't wash your hair?! I use dry shampoo sometimes but even that doesn't seem to get rid of the heavy "greasiness" my bangs feel and look. I find curling my hair kind of removes that look -- I'm tired of doing buns and I know washing my hair every day is not very good. So any tips would be helpful. I will be here doing homework and sipping some tea. :p

Hey everyone! Don't think I've given up on my blog because I haven't. With school eating up my life and with me and my photographer (my boyfriend) being out of the house from 8 am in the morning until 9 pm at night, it doesn't give us much time to go out and take outfit photos. In the morning, we're rushed - there's no time; and at night we're so tired and disheveled outfit posts are the last thing on my mind. So I haven't abandoned this blog and that won't change in a very long time. So sorry for my absence in that regard.

Hello, hello! Here's a little portrait of me:
I'm Princess Kyonyuu (my real name is Camille) and I'm 21 years old. As you probably would have guessed I love fashion!
I'm a simple girl who loves romantic comedies, photography, playing The Sims 3, reading"bit-lit" or mangas, seeing my friends, listening pretty songs, decorating my apartment, taking pleasant walks, and of course, writing articles for my blog. (If I tell you everything I love, we will be here all day...) I'm studying for a 3 years university degree in license information and communication and I hope to one day work in the world of fashion, and especially plus size fashion!

Your blog name is Princesse Kyonyuu, what is the meaning behind this blog name?

I didn't know how to name my blog. I hesitated to put the word "princess" in my nickname, I was afraid that it gets too pedantic (I had thought of "miss" or "Mademoiselle"... ) But we are all princesses, so I decided to keep it! For the word "Kyonyuu" that's another story. I hesitated with an English or Japanese word. I looked for the second because I wanted to show my passion for Japan. I wish I found the equivalent of "curvy" but I haven't found it. I won't tell you what that word means ha-ha, sometimes it's better to preserve the "mystery"!

How did you get into the plus size blogging community?

I don't really know ... One day I discovered a blog of a curvy girl and I was very happy! So I'm looking for plus size bloggers, and I discovered a world I didn't know lol! I was excited, and these girls made me want to create my space, my own blog. I want to show that you can be beautiful and nicely dressed, even if you aren't a small size...

In your own words, how would you describe your personal style?

My personal style ... We could say that it's a big mix! I love the outfits in the vintage spirit, "romantic", "preppy" very "girly" with liberty pattern, tutu, little node... But on the other hand, I love the rocker style, jeans, leather, cross, studded stuff ... So I try to reconcile the two together; I also have a classic style, more discreet. Mostly I try to adapt the styles that I like to my body but everything just doesn't suit me, unfortunately. ;)

Who or what is your biggest inspiration?

My inspiration can come from looks I see on the street, or photos and of course, blogs inspire me. But also the collections, models, including Tara Lynn - I think she looks beautiful. I also watch "Lookbook" to see other peoples' looks.

What is your favourite outfit you have posted on your blog?

I have no favorite outfits, I love them all in general. If I had to pick one, it would be this one: here. I love my derbies, my great skirt, and my bag, then this outfits is also comfortable. I had a great day in this outfit and I have good memories associated with this outfit, lol!

What is the ONE piece of clothing you cannot part with, any particular reason?

One piece!? Woaou! Weeeeeeell ... This is very difficult! I think to my glitter derbies, because I can wear them with any outfit like a pretty dress or with simply jeans. These shoes always give "the" touch as they are out of the ordinary. They are also very comfortable (leather interior), so they are my best friends! Then I'll admit, I'm in love with glitter! :D

Have you received any stigma due to your body size? How do you deal with it?

Yes, I have been bad remarks about my body size. If I'm fat it's because I'm lazy, I don't do sports, and I eat pastries all day! You see? When I was younger, I was very shy, and I suffered a lot. Now I decided to answer to these wicked people. However, I'm still fragile and I have great complex. Curvy girls can't be sexy, can't be beautiful... I want to show in my blog that all the stigma isn't true; but it's very difficult to change attitudes.

Do you find that France is becoming accepting of plus sized bodies and plus sized fashion?

I think in France it will take time. It always surprises people when I say that I have a blog where I show myself in full-length portrait. There are elections, like Miss Curvy for example. It surprises people that curvy girls want to highlight themselves and they think that we should hide because we are big. I would like to make it move in France, and I intend to push things. My dream is to work in plus sized fashion. And I want to see more curvy girls in advertising, on TV, in stores, in magazines, everywhere! Show yourself girls!

Once upon a time, I was scared. Scared of what, exactly?
Well. Revealing my arms. Wearing an outfit like this back in high school - forget it. Perhaps the biggest insecurity I had about myself was not my tummy, but my arms. My arms are bigger in terms of proportion... it was (and still is) difficult to find tops that fit my arms just right, while fitting my bust and tummy just right too. Either I find something just right in the bust or tummy department, but the arms are too tight, or I find arms that are just right but way too loose elsewhere.

It's taken a few years but I've overcome this fear of revealing my arms. As big as they are, they're a part of me and it's not fair to love just one part of your body, I think we should love every single curve and every single part of our bodies... because it's the only one that we have in this lifetime. Hating my arms won't do me any good, right?

Man, this week has been mad hectic for me. If you were following my twitter I tweeted about being in the emergency room. I still don't know what I have but thankfully it wasn't an aneurism or meningitis because I think I would've cried from stress.
Today I just went out to drop off some resumes despite feeling a bit ill, so this explains why I've been dressed up despite my health conditions. Anyway...

These are one of those outfits where people would be like, "OH so unflattering... blah blah etc." Not like I care. You know we as a society should just stop caring about what people think; about us, about how we look, and about how we present ourselves. I think what helped me overcome my confidence hurdles was to start dressing for myself. No one else. Do not think about impressing anyone else, and dress to please yourself. Needless to say, I was pleased with this outfit. Yes, I may look "wider" but I'm fat so not like it matters anyways. The pictures do no justice to this top, it's an incredible thrift find... it's a silk blend oversized shirt, it's almost big enough on me to be a dress.

Sometimes I need a break from dresses and skirts, you know. Pants rule sometimes... sometimes. On another note, I also got a haircut if you guys noticed, no more fringe. I'll be growing it out! Hurray? Haha.

Hopefully I can squeeze in an outfit post before I go out to Northern Ontario to go camping.

It was fairly cold today for a picnic, which is where we went today. Cold weather equals layers! Not gonna lie, I'm excited for fall to start. I really felt good in this outfit - it's quirky, feminine and is ME. Notice my hair growing? Yeah. I'm getting rid of my bangs, I think I said this last time but I've been doing my hair like this and I've gotten compliments. I also kind of miss looking at my eyebrows. I found bangs as a cop-out and excuse not to pluck.

School is vast approaching! I love school personally, I like learning, listening to lectures but I hate writing exams. Ah, well. Hey, there's a positive thing about back to school shopping! A company from the Philippines contacted me in regards to SM department store's plus size model search. Unfortunately for me, I'm not able to partake in this awesome opportunity because I live in Canada and not the Philippines, but, being a Filipina, I just couldn't refuse writing about this great opportunity for other ladies in the Philippines to enjoy.

Long time no post everyone!
I've been busy at home, at work and also I've taken a mini-vacation out to Northwestern Ontario. I was back on Monday but these past few days I've taken to just relax at home because before you know it, the next 3 weeks will fly by so fast and it's back to the old daily grind.

For today's outfit I'm wearing what I call my "safe" colour combination. For some reason I love wearing red, white and black together. When I don't know what to wear in terms of colours, those colours pop into my head first. I have a newfound love of maxi dresses or anything maxi. I never thought I would.
Well, sort of. I don't like maxi dresses with a whole lot of tribal prints or tacky prints. I like minimal or girly things. So I went to Old Navy and found this dress for $10. I actually don't like blue on me but this looks really good for some reason. I also don't like Old Navy too much, I admit they have some decent basics but sizing wise it's inconsistent and the fabric stretches more than a rubber band. So far so good with this dress though.

Okay so I GUESS this outfit was yesterday's outfit.

Shirt Old Navy | Trousers and Belt ASOS | Shoes Thrifted

I wore this to work. You know how challenging it is to find clothes for work? I usually just wear trousers. This outfit is no different. I mean, we can wear whatever we want at work but I'm not allowed to wear jeans, shorts (unless they're at my knees) or skirts (same principle as shorts). I can wear dresses but they cannot expose your shoulders so a cardigan is a must. Now, I'd be fine with that if it weren't so freaking hot outside. I work at a kiosk at the mall so the sun is constantly in your face, and even though there's air conditioning, it's hot as a result.

Boyfriend got a burrito or something. My friend got a chimichanga and I got an enchilada. I shall note that they ALL look the same and tasted the same. What the hell was the difference, I do not know.

This past weekend me and some friends went out for sushi (I always get it. It is sad. HAHA.) and Mexican food.

I ♥ Lord Voldemort. LOL. The whole outfit is ASOS.

Then we watched the Fringe (again) and we went to watch Harry Potter (I don't like Harry Potter, but I went there with an open mind and it was OK. Not amazing. I actually thought it was hilarious at one part. I don't want to say what part though because it's a spoiler.) we also watched Captain America. It was so-so as well.

So that's my week/weekend. Can you believe it's almost the end of July? Then it'll be August, then September again. Crazy.

For the past weekend me and some friends went to the Winnipeg Fringe Festival. It was my first time going ever, and I'm hooked. I'm definitely buying a fringe pass next year. Essentially it's a bunch of different plays/skits/improv shows at different venues on different days of the week around downtown Winnipeg. It gives us something to do and plus, it's a whole lot of fun. Today we saw the Dungeons and Dragons show! Yes, I'm a geek. It was hilarious, actually. I'm a new fan. :)

We also had sushi today. Mmm, sushi.

Yesterday we went fringing too. We hung out around downtown. Oh, I also tried my new contact lenses. I'm still getting used to them. I haven't worn them in 7 years. I'm not sure what to think about it. I think I like glasses better, aesthetic-wise. Probably because glasses are my version of a safety blanket if you know what I mean. I hide behind them, it's weird seeing my face without anything on them! One thing I am happy about, however, is that I can wear sunglasses! I bought a pair at a vintage shop yesterday, I'll show them later on.

We also tried Smoke's Poutinerie at the Exchange and I was very disappointed. I was expecting a full-blown Quebec-style poutine and I didn't. Me and my boyfriend were very disappointed. I didn't get a picture of the "traditional" poutine but it's gravy with cheese curds and ehhh, it was meh. Oh well. The other pictures are the Beef Peppercorn poutine and my friends Bacon Cheeseburger poutine. I took the regular size (which was more than enough) and my friend + boyfriend took the large size which is enough to feed two people. If you are in Winnipeg and you're wanting to try it out, I guess go once. I think it's just a novelty thing because this city does not know how to deliver a good poutine... this is the closest it will get to a Quebec-style poutine. Then again I hate potatoes so that might be something. But my boyfriend loves 'em and he hates this place, so...

Now I digress. My outfit post today. I've never actually SEEN this dress on the ASOS website until I looked in the sales section. At $20 I couldn't say no. It has a cute sweetheart neckline, thick straps and the quality is good for it's price. All that I can ask for. I also need more colour in my wardrobe if I do say so myself. We went out to dim sum but I didn't get pictures. :p Let's just say our bellies are happy. I love siu mai and mango pudding! Yum.

It's ridiculously hot right now so I actually removed that cardigan like an hour later. I forgot to take pictures, shoot.

173. (Fat Rule Breaking)

Most of my life as a fat girl I've heard it all. We've all heard it before. You know, how we can't wear something because of our bodies or how we should wear something to look "flattering" or "skinnier".

"You can't wear this!"
"Stripes make you look fat."
"Wearing that will make your hips look BIGGER."
"Black is so slimming for you".
"Hide your arms, etc."

I truly think it's sickening that as a society, we are pushing a certain body type as an ideal for beauty. I think that every body is beautiful anyways. Why is it when we are told what to wear, it always has to pertain to looking skinny, flattening the rolls, etcetera? While fat bodies, or even just curvy or a "bigger body" beyond the ideal is something that should be avoided at all costs. We've socialized ourselves to think that these body ideals are okay when it's not. I'm not shaming skinny people at all, but I am shaming the fat shaming if you get what I'm saying.

Well with that in mind I've grown up now and thanks to the internet and many fashion blogs + fat acceptance blogs I've learned to say, "SCREW IT" to those inane rules and wear whatever the hell I want to wear. In fact, I've taken the liberty to purposely wear things that is considered a big "no-no" for a fatty and I feel good about it. Yeah, some people stare at me or laugh, but so what? Some also applaud me for taking risks with my attire.

Here's a list of rules that I have heard in my lifetime...

Stripes
We've heard the big fuss about stripes: "Horizontal stripes make you look wider. Only wear vertical stripes." Well, throw that garbage mentality out of the window. No matter WHAT we wear, we will still have our bodies. I am still fat and no amount of clothing (or lack of) can change the fact that I am fat. So I will wear stripes, and I don't apologize for offending anyone while doing so. Here's one of my looks wearing stripes here.

White Clothing
I've heard this one a lot as a kid, "White makes you look WIDER!" It's kind of the same mentality as the horizontal stripes argument. Again, wearing anything but white won't remove the fact I am FAT. So I will wear white. My mom refused to buy me a white graduation dress because it'd make me look "fatter". I am kind of regretting not wearing a white dress to my high school graduation. Here's me sporting an all-white ensemble here.

Colourful Clothing / Patterened clothing
"Wearing colours/patterns will only attract people to look at you." Oh yes, I've heard this one too. You don't know how many times growing up that I was denied to buy any colourful clothing by my parents because it will draw attention onto me. At the time I didn't want attention drawn on me because I was socialized to believe that no one wants to look at a fatty. Now that I reflect on it... what the heck was I thinking? I'm all about fat visibility and if wearing colours will make people notice me, then so be it! I'll vomit a rainbow all over you... haha, just joking. Here's me rockin' a colourful outfit here.

Showing Leg/Skin
"No one wants to look at your thunder thighs/arms". Yeah, I've heard this too. So I covered up as much as possible. I wore longsleeves and really baggy hoodies as a teenager to hide my shape. I was ashamed of myself because... well, it's been ingrained and drilled into my head that you don't question, but you just do it because you are told. Now that I'm a free-thinking adult I bare all the skin I want to. My legs, especially. Here's an outfit I posted on the Evans Facebook page and I got a lot of flack for because it's too short (lol) and my legs were showing. It's sad how the hatred towards fat people can even be internalized inside ourselves. Time to break that mentality and show some skin! ;) If you don't want to go all out you can always wear sheer clothing.

NO skin tight clothing!
With this, it includes swimsuits. I suspect I got flack for my weight a few posts down because I, GASP, wore something FORM FITTING and it reveals my belly! Am I not supposed to wear a bathing suit? Or am I burning your eyes? If it's the latter, it's not my problem if I'm burning your eyes. Go get a fire extinguisher to soothe it then. No fucks will be given to that. I say wear whatever you want. Wear a belly-fitting bathing suit or a bodycon dress. In the end it's how you feel about yourself and not what other people think. Besides, with strangers... you'll never see them again so why let them ruin your fun? This is the bathing suit I wore here, and I'm not sorry.

Oversized Clothing/Shapeless Clothing
I LOVE oversized clothing and clothing that is deemed as a ~tent. I find this kind of stupid because I was told as a teenage fatty that wearing tight things were bad, yet when I wear oversized "shapeless" stuff I am scrutinized too. We never win, do we? I got flack on tumblr for wearing oversized stuff. As seen here. We're told to wear things that give us shape, but then when we do, we're scolded for it. I'm sorry but I don't want to put a belt on everything I wear - so shapeless it is.

Empire Waist Dresses
I love empire waist dresses. I'm sure everyone - either fat or skinny has heard this gem, "AVOID empire waist dresses, they make you look PREGNANT!" Then I guess I will continue to look pregnant then. They're so comfortable, how could I not? Here's my wearing my favourite empire waist maxi dress here.

No skinny jeans or anything high waist
I've seen a Facebook hate group for both of these. Something along the lines that fat people wearing skinny jeans are like sausages and is a crime against humanity. Same with high waist stuff. If I could flip off these people I totally would. There's plenty of people who look smashing in skinny jeans. Here's a picture of me wearing skinny jeans.

I think I've exhausted most of the rules. Bottom line is that these rules are absolute garbage.

Next time you plan an outfit just wear whatever the hell you want. Who invented these stupid rules anyway? We only live once so just wear what you want and pay no heed to those who snicker and laugh. They can only wish they had as much gall as you have. If you're not confident, fake it till you make it. That's what I did and now people laughing is just something that I don't care about. I'd rather be interesting than be a complete bore. :)

Back to our regular scheduled programming! Haha... well, back to "picture/style" blogging. There are times where I am frustrated and I needed to vent, and that previous entry was just me speaking about a common thing that happens for plus size bloggers... but no one really is vocal about that issue. In real life I am no pushover and I am assertive and aggressive so I cannot stand it when people are passive, you know? I just had to blog about it.

Now that's over here's an outfit that I wore today. Yeah, whatever. I've heard the "fatties shouldn't wear baggy stuff/oversized stuff" crap enough for a lifetime. I'm going to wear whatever I want because even if it is "unflattering" or it makes me look "fat" ... so what. I'm fat. No garment will ever make me look otherwise. Nothing can erase the fact that I'm fat, so you know, work with it and go crazy! That's what I think anyways.

I'm wearing a fisherman's sweater because it was unusually cold today. From +30C to +15C (ish) it's a big drop today. It was cool enough to wear layers. It's just one of those cold summer days with a chilly breeze. I like it.

I also finally got my headbands from ASOS! I like them a lot though I don't know if I'd buy another one... it seems that it's just a piece of polkadot chiffon cut in a strip. I am really horrible at DIY but it seems easy enough that I can do it.

I'm really sad that summer is already nearing it's end. It feels like it was barely here. One more month, yes? Then back to the same old grind. Oh well!

I know this is supposed to be a "fashion blog" but what separates my blog from a fashion blog or style blog is that I'm fat. Fat is what society hates and is disgusted with, and I'm sure a lot of fellow fat people can agree the stigma that is attached to our fat bodies. People think it's okay to humiliate, shame, put down other people because of their bodies. We are perceived as lazy, unmotivated and even ugly individuals by society.

Well, you know what? To those people who think those negative things about us fatties? Fuck you.

You kind of people are the reason why some people have negative self-esteem. It makes me wonder why people put down others. To feel superior? To feel good about oneself? For what? Why is it that some skinny people (or otherwise) think they're better than I am because of their body? I'd rather be a polite person than be a rotten person who goes around putting people down for their appearance.

I know I am blowing this out of proportion, but I just want to get this out there for other people who think they can ask questions about my weight.

Today I got a formspring ask by some anonymous person about my weight. This person tried to use things such as, "I don't mean to be rude, but..." something to that effect. Now, I really hate it when people use that before saying an offensive statement! SAYING NO OFFENSE BUT... or any variation is STILL OFFENSIVE.

This person asked me if I was active and have I ever thought about losing weight.

Why the hell should my weight matter to you, anonymous individual? Why is it so important that you must ask me on formspring about my weight? Why does it matter to you anyways? I don't get it. Why do people think it's okay to ask someone about their weight... any person, for that matter. It's not okay to ask anyone - whether you're skinny or fat, about your weight or health! Besides, if I did answer, "Yes I do exercise" how many people would believe me anyways? People tend to disregard or even scoff at the fact a fat person exercises because... (I quote from someone who told me this once), "If they exercised/dieted, they wouldn't be so fat!" You don't know what experiences or other circumstances that individual is going through at all.

Would you go down the street and ask a stranger about their physical activity? Why is it okay to ask me because I'm fat? It's fucking annoying and I don't care if you "don't mean to be offensive". You are being offensive anyways. Same goes for other personal questions, too. If you wouldn't answer the question you're asking someone yourself, why is it okay to ask anyone else that question you wouldn't answer?

As promised, here's some shots from the beach today.
It was absolutely beautiful out. +30C outside, perfect day to go to the beach. I tanned (unfortunately for me!) but I didn't get burned luckily for me. Some stupid people at the beach were laughing at me, but it's mostly little kids. Oh well, I still thought I looked cute. :)

I'm really insecure about my upper-legs (cellulite) but I've learned to embrace them because it's a part of me.

What started out as a gloomy day quickly turned into a nice day. I spent time with my dad today at the water park here, I had fun despite feeling a bit sick, but I felt better by the afternoon.

So when we got home we changed and my boyfriend and I went on a dinner date plus a movie. If you want a laugh-worthy movie that isn't toilet humour, check out "Horrible Bosses". It's SO good. Everyone at the theatre was laughing out loud and they even clapped after the movie. No movie has made me laugh as much this year as this movie did, so do check it out. I recommend it!

I NEVER eat pasta. I actually don't like pasta (yeah I'm weird) because it makes me tired and within seconds of consumption I am sent into a deep food coma. (Also known as passing out after eating) even just with a few bites. I decided to step outside my comfort zone and try this cajun pasta dish. I have to say it's not bad. I guess like fashion, sometimes you gotta take risks with your food. We also ordered dessert. My boyfriend got the cookie sundae and I got the lava cake. It was too sweet for my liking though. Oh well.

Anyways, I'm going to the beach tomorrow. Hopefully I can get pictures of that.

I can tell you with certainty that I didn't get a wedgie (only because mine are actually shorts and not denim panties, ahem ahem.) but it makes it look like I have a gratuitous camel toe which all mom shorts/pants are famous for. It's my tummy that you see on the pictures in all it's glory. Haters gonna hate.

I wanted to showcase my new glasses from Clearly Contacts. I LOVE 'em! I don't get why I get dizzy. I measured my pupillary distance and prescription all correct so I don't know why it's all wonky. I felt drunk wearing these glasses. Ah well.

I'm not saying much today because I am dying of a migraine which I think might've been induced by the dairy intake I had today. I had bubble tea with my boyfriend and the mass amount of milk made me sick. NEVER again. I don't know what made me go and do something stupid and drink a MALT bubble tea (I am mildly allergic to malt and I am lactose intolerant) but I do regret it now. LOL. At least I looked pretty. ^o^

For the past few years I did not know how it felt like to have such difficulty finding comfortable bras. I used to have B cups and it was easy to find them at a 40 B or 38 B. However, I've gained weight the past couple of years and sad to say, my bras no longer fit so I shopped for newer bras that fit my 42 DD chest.

Needless to say, I never knew how difficult it was to find bras that gave support and didn't look matronly - plus fitting larger sizes. In Canada, the selection is absolutely abysmal. We don't have Cacique bras or Lane Bryant bras. We only have one national chain and that's from Addition-Elle. When I used to wear B cup bras it was a lot cheaper for me so when I saw the prices for plus size bras I was absolutely sticker-shocked at the big price jump. I was used to buying $20 bras from La Senza and now I'd have to pay $60 - $70 for a bra.

Thank goodness for online shopping. After browsing through several online shops, I was contacted by Simply Yours UK about their plus size line. When I saw their lingerie selection, I fell in love with the wide variety! They offer minimizer bras, plunge bras, push up bras, underwire bras, sports bras and a lot more.

Besides the wonderful selection, their prices are completely reasonable. Doing the conversion from British Pounds to Canadian dollars, the average bra costs from $29 to $85 dollars at the most. Sizes also range from A cups to H cups, which is nice for those who are more endowed. You can look at their Large Cup Bra selection to see for yourself!

Hi y'all! I'm finally done school for the summer. Hallelujah. No more exams, boring lectures or papers. I am freeee! To celebrate we went out to dinner and I wore this fabulous dress I got from ASOS. It was beautiful today so I felt it was appropriate. I wanted to keep it simple so minimal accessories for this outfit. It was too hot to wear a cardigan as well! I've gotten comfortable with my arms the past few months so I'm happy to say that I dressed how I wanted without feeling insecure. I felt very "Mad Men" with my Derek Cardigan cat-eye glasses as well. I'm obsessed with glasses, I think I need an intervention. :(

Well, since we're on the topic of dresses I might as well give my opinion on the dress. I love how it looks and feels. It runs true to size, but I feel like the dress is missing something... like lining? It feels cheap, the fabric. It's rough and not soft at all. It's cotton so it's breathable but I felt like I was wearing a very fancy table cloth - that's how the material felt like. I guess you can't tell by looking at it. That's my only gripe about it. I feel modest and I'm not mooning everyone with this dress which tends to be the case with a lot of ASOS dresses. This dress did not run short at all! All in all, it's a good price on sale right now for about $30 USD, so if you were wondering if you should take the plunge, do it! I give it 4/5 stars.

I had a decent day. I skipped school unintentionally because I slept at 2 am last night (no good) and then I went to work. Anyways, in class there was a political debate about pro-choice/pro-life.

I know I'm going on a political tangent but PRO-CHOICE DOES NOT EQUAL PRO-DEATH. I'm sorry, but I actually get really offended and angry at the pro-life people who give their woman-shaming, misogynistic arguments. I could go on a whole rant about what I think... but I won't because I'll make other people uncomfortable. There's being a pro-lifer and being respectful and not bashing women and being sexist, you know? I respect that. I don't respect bashing and victim blaming. Bleh. The thing I'm most frustrated THE most is that the professor allowed the students to choose that topic. It triggers people. There was rape victim blaming. Makes the feminist and decent human being in me boil in rage. But wait, there's more! On Thursday they're going to debate about HOMOSEXUAL MARRIAGE? THERE DOESN'T NEED TO BE A DEBATE ON THAT. Man I am so angry, but alas, I cannot do anything about it. Except rant about it on my blog.

Long time no outfit post.
As always, busy with life, busy with school. I've unfortunately caught the stomach flu but I'm on the stage of recovery (still not 100%). I wore this to go out to buy something with my boyfriend. I opted for something no-fuss and casual. I love shorts, I'm obsessed. I love mustard yellow, it's one of my favourite colours but I don't even have lots of yellow things! (I should remedy that right away... haha). I re-discovered this thrifted Yves St. Laurent top.

I really, really love head bands/head scarves. I must say, it's one of my favourite trends this spring and summer. It's perfect for a lazy person like me who doesn't want to straighten hair, or do anything with it, to be honest. It's a lot more interesting than a messy bun, for sure.

The wind = not good for skirts.

My mom told me I dress too "eccentric" and colourful. I just had to, given today, it was +17C outside (but it was terribly windy) with such sunny skies! I found this pink scarf my friend gave me and used it as a head wrap because I didn't feel like washing my bangs or hair. My mom wanted to go out to some rummage sales (my favourite weekend activity) so I did just that. People were staring at my colourful outfit, and I honestly couldn't give a heck about it. Stare all you want! We went to McDonalds, where people stared, the mall - the only place they didn't stare is the rummage sales. Haters gon' hate.

Not much of an outfit post. This was an outfit I wore like last week to eat shawarma. Nothing exciting, so I'll just dump some food photographs here. After all, it's not just a "fashion" (I use this term very loosely) blog, but it's a blog of my life, which includes food.

One of my favourite teas right now. If you are fortunate to have a DAVIDsTEA in your area, do try the Luscious Watermelon tea! It's excellent iced... It's a beautiful tasting tea with real watermelon, honeydew and apples! Dee-lish!

Beef Shawarma. If you're in Winnipeg, do try the Shawarma place (I don't know what it's called, fail.) on Main Street in the Kildonan area (the road going to Selkirk, the city.) You can't miss it, it says "Lebanese Food" on the sign. They have affordable and generous shawarmas and falafel wraps at a fair price.

We had Mother's Day Dinner at Tomy Roma's! The first picture is mine, which has ribs + chicken + bacon macaroni and cheese + broccoli... I couldn't finish the ribs, I gave it to my mom, and the mac and cheese I gave half to my brother.

Just getting back into the swing of things. School, a bit of part time work, and studying. After the odd snowfall in May, the sun decided to rear its head. I'm glad for that as I love exposing leg!

It was nice out so I wore my romper. One thing that annoyed me is it was too flowy that it kind of gaped a bit, giving the illusion of tightness or camel toe, which I did not have. I SWEAR. Stupid photos. I still love it nonetheless, but it is quite annoying! I love the cardigan from City Chic - I ordered in a Medium, fits perfectly, and the fabric is soft - I love it so much. I like mixing patterns, and this is what I did with my leopard flats.

For Canadians - did anyone else watch the election last night? I'm still quite gutted over the result. CONSERVATIVE MAJORITY. Ugh. I'm still so mad. I knew that Jack Layton as a Prime Minister is a dream and a fantasy, but honestly, anyone but Harper! I hate Stephen Harper and I'm going to express that on my blog... It really bothers me when young people or anyone for that matter don't exercise their privilege and rights to vote. I honestly spoke with some people on campus and the response was appalling. It was along the lines of, "I don't care" or "I'm too lazy" or "My TV show is on." Voting is fast and you have the official election day and 3 advanced days to vote... really, if people aren't going to vote then they should shut up when they complain about the government. Sorry I'm going on a political rant here on my blog, but it's something that I'm clearly feeling quite strongly about. I guess it's another 4 years of ... well, we'll see. Let's just hope it's not what I feared it to be.

When I got my ASOS flute sleeve floral dress in the mail, I knew I had to wear it immediately. In fact when I bought it off the ASOS website it was the last one in my size. I knew I would regret it if I didn't buy it.

Guess what? I LOVE it. The sleeves - the dress, it's everything I imagined it to be and more. The only gripe I have is that if you're taller than me (I'm 5'5") this will definitely be tunic length on a person. It's quite short for me to be honest, it goes to mid-thigh, I sometimes get self-conscious if I moon someone by accident. In fact, my "modesty shorts" can be seen if I wore it underneath... but yeah. It's perfect otherwise, and I didn't wear anything else with it because it has a lot of details already like the sleeves and the flowers. So I wore makeup (which I normally don't do) in place of accessorizing.

Even though the sky was gloomy it did not stop me from wearing something obscenely colourful. I didn't feel like wearing shorts today, but I didn't want to wear pants either. Of course, a skirt or dress came to mind. I dug through my closet and found this HM garden collection dress I loved when I first got it, and I still do love it! I paired it with this as you can see. I'm still trying to get into the hang of the socks + sandals/peeptoe trend as you can see as well.

When someone asks me what my "style is", I can't really respond because I don't think I even have a style. At least, not one I could put into words. I haven't been updating lately because I was sick, or still am sick actually. My boyfriend gave me his awful cold/flu and I unfortunately had that on top of exams and important job interviews. Not like it mattered, it was a casual place.) and then I went home, changed, then went to go buy stuff to make pho tonight.

As April rears it's head, it's nearing the complete end of the term. I've yet to write any of my exams, but for now, I decided to take a slack day and go shopping at the mall... like, actually go shopping. I ended up going to Forever 21 and buying a few things (which I'll be showcasing on the blog in future outfit posts) and I also ended up buying some much needed tights, goodies from Lush and some Russian Red Lipglass from MAC. After shopping we went for pizza dinner at Boston Pizza and then the movies to see Source Code (which was good by the way).

On certain days I have to wear pants. Not because I want to, but because of my job. You see sometimes my transcription jobs requires me to type whilst on the floor and as a result going on the floor is sometimes weird while wearing a skirt or dress. So I wore my hareems today, quite baggy pants. I love navy, and I decided to pair it with red and stripes for a nautical look. This whole look is quite baggy. Yes, I realise I do look "bigger than usual" on the outfits, but all I have to say to that is I am fat anyway, so I don't give a rats arse if anyone thinks it's "unflattering"... I'm fat, that's it. I'm not trying to hide it so here you go.

The sun was in my eyes.

I've been sporting my ASOS faux-leather bomber lately because the weather has been favourable lately. So here's a variation of an outfit I'm wearing recently to school.
Also! I'm showcasing my new glasses. You like? Hehe. It's totally not matching with the outfit, but these were the only glasses I had on me since I'm staying at my dads house for the weekend. It's a definite change of environment than where I live in the suburbs for sure... as you can see, it's more inner-city, so I think my outfit reflects that a bit.

Also, these ASOS ponti capris are too long for me at 5'5"... note that I actually had to fold the cuffs up so it actually are "capris" they look like black skinny trousers on me.

Anyway, we went to the cinema yesterday and some sashimi. Yum! One thing I do hate about going to the movies in my dads area (in the inner-city) is that every time I go the people are so damn inconsiderate and rude. I have nothing against people smoking marijuana or whatever, but if you go into the movie theatre HIGH and then screaming whilst watching the film and ruining it for everyone... like damn, have some class people! No wonder people from the North End of Winnipeg get such a bad rep. People in public act like hooligans... maybe it's because I live in a rather calm place in the city with no disruptions but I have to vent about that.

Although, It's nice to kick back a bit since all my term papers are done. Just exams now. But I'll be busier than ever the next 2 months. Summer sessions... eeep, and work on top of that!

I'm pleased to announce that I'm finally not subjected to wear that (faux) fur jacket I wear constantly. Not that I have a problem but I'm itching to wear only a few layers and hopefully I'm able to wear my denim jacket anyway.
It's still farking cold here but I really wanted to wear my ASOS shorts so this is how I incorporated it. You guys don't know how happy I am to not wear boots or chunky stuff. Bring out the flats! I only wear boots because I'm scared of slipping while trying to run for my bus... haha. Now that the weather has been somewhat favourable I can start wearing what I like. Though as you can see, there's still snow. I'm just so happy... natural lighting! Outside! No more living room pictures! (For now.) Bliss.

Did you guys notice I cut my hair? Well only like an inch. I'm kind of ticked because I didn't do it on purpose, I asked for a trim of my dead ends (heat styling does that to you) and what do you know, an inch cut off. I guess I had an inch of dead hair. Oh wells. I'm so frustrated about my hair, I wish I could cut it but I have to remind myself to have diligence and patience.

Moving on to the clothes... I only have one thing to say about the ASOS curve shorts. I think they run big. They fall off of me, even with the belt done up all the way until there's no more holes.

Anyway, to conclude my entry, I must go back to doing my paper. However, I will leave you with some pictures I had of my dinner I had with boyfriend today...

FIRST OF ALL, you may have noticed a layout change. Yes, I changed my layout all decked out in pastel for the spring. Second, I updated my blog-roll and my other pages on the top links. So do check it out.

I've been very bad in spending this time, ha! Well not really... okay maybe. Anyway, as school nears its end (for now) I decided to treat myself. I think a bit too much. I'm going to put myself on a shopping ban starting now. No, I did not spend all this at once. This is purchases from February to March.

I couldn't help it with ASOS. I've been literally stalking the striped shorts and top since their arrival. I'm very happy with my products, especially the shorts!

With their cute, on-trend clothing at affordable prices, I consider these a steal. The backpack I believe was less than $10 and the dresses were less than $20 each. When ordering there are measurement charts. Again, people all have different experiences and I can proudly say I've had nothing but consistent and GOOD experiences with this company!

City Chic
When City Chic had their 60% off everything sale I couldn't resist. I was missing something: shorts. So I stocked up on those and two cardigans. :) Unfortunately the vintage/high waist shorts were sold out my size..

Forever 21
Forever 21 opened in Winnipeg so I had to check it out. They had the Forever 21+ size line and I ended up with these. I also bought the short leggings to put underneath my dresses, but no picture was available online.

Weh, it's that time of year again... schools coming to an end in a few weeks, papers due and the scramble to find a summer job. Stressing over that big time; and not only that but for the program I want to study, I may have to transfer universities to get admitted to the graduate program I want to study in. It's a shame but it was bound to happen, I didn't think it'd be this soon that I have to transfer over! I don't want to go into it too much, but I'm kind of bummed is all. I love the University of Winnipeg - even if it's small, I really think I grew as a person in the past few years and I credit a lot of it to that fabulous university... the people, the energy and the professors make it such an awesome place. Haha, enough cheesiness. It's funny how things change! When I first went to UW I did not like the atmosphere at all, but now I'm just sad thinking about the possibility of leaving! I mean, my style has changed as well and will also be constantly changing. I love how my blog is an outlet for me to document myself, and I can read on how much I've changed.

On another note, boyfriend and I went to the mall. I bought some (more) stuff from Lush. I am an addict, I say.

I'm so happy! Done exams FINALLY. I've had a migraine all day and doing an exam while having a migraine is no happy feat. Well, I'm glad I'm done and now I can party all night. Just kidding, I don't do that kind of stuff. I'm boring. Haha.

Here's my outfit today. Colouring is weird because of the settings on my camera and I brightened stuff up just a bit because it was a tad too dark.

On unhappier terms, another dent in the wallet. I had to take my pug to the vet (again) but she's alright.

It's no surprise I love glasses. I rely on them for my day-to-day use. I never ever use contact lenses because they irritate my eyes and I tend to lose things so no-go there. I love glasses because they make such a bold statement and it can be coordinated in outfits. I have 4 pairs of glasses I use on rotation at home and this does not include the glasses I have worn in my past years.

Anyway, here's some glasses that I really like on Clearly Contacts (I believe it is Coastal contacts in the USA). I can confidently say that I LOVE Clearly contacts. They always provide me consistent quality of glasses. (The glasses I'm wearing here are from Clearly Contacts/Coastal Contacts!) and they have epic sales too. I remember a few weeks ago they put all their glasses on sale for $33! ... that's right, ANY pair glasses were just $33. That's not all, but every once or twice a year they do giveaways in Canada, I think they give out 500 pairs of glasses in each city on select days. All you had to do was check out and enter a coupon code and you just paid for shipping. I got 2 glasses from those giveaways, but they go quick.

By the way I wasn't paid to do this, I just really love glasses and this company. Another good glasses company is Zenni Optical, great glasses for those on a budget.

I was supposed to go to the Festival Du Voyageur last week, but it seems I waited until today. :p I have kind of two outfits but not really... I wore one outfit to go out to sushi with my boyfriend then another to walk and ~~frolic in the snow~~. Anyway, without further ado, here's the pictures! Hey everyone! Long time no outfit post, haha. Well it's been a couple of days already, so...
Today I spent my Sunday going out to lunch with my parents (TOGETHER, gasp! They're divorced haha) and my brother and boyfriend. No pictures but we went out for tea and dim sum. So good! I'm happy too because everyone was friendly and civilized, hehehe.

I rushed her to the Vet ER but damn, it's a big dent on our wallets. Quite upset about that but my baby is okay now. Yay! I told my mother not to put those damn rat poisons around our house. Sigh. Well, yeah that's that.

Today also since it's a long weekend the museum decided to open for free! So my boyfriend and I went and got to go around the museum exhibits, and I'm surprised, my boyfriend hates Winnipeg / is bored of this city but he was actually quite impressed with out museum. Especially the ship! So cool!

Well that's that for today. I'm going to go to the French Winter festival tomorrow, I'll have pictures of that for sure.

Hey everyone! I have recently been contacted by Igigi by Yuliya Raquel to do a review on one of their dresses of my choosing! So I chose the Babette Curvy Dress because I didn't want to choose a cocktail dress or anything, as it wasn't really my thing, I don't often wear those so I chose something I would most likely wear on a day-to-day basis.

Alright, let's get started. So I ordered this dress in a 22 because on the website it looked like it would run small or something. It's actually a stretchy forgiving fabric, I would say almost body-con like as it clings onto my body. So shapewear is a must if you don't want lumps and bumps. It is a pretty dress for the office and it looks just like it does on the website, except I think the blue is a tad bit brighter in person than on the website. (The colour may be a bit skewed on my camera because of the settings, but it's pretty close to the pictures). Normally it's something I would belt, but I wanted you guys to see the waist detail of the dress so there it is. Again, a problem I have is that it's too long on my body, but that's just a preference of mine. I like my stuff shorter, at least knee length. This goes past the knee for me for sure.

All in all, I'd give this dress 4 out of 5 stars. The dress is obviously well made as it is thick and perfect for cold offices, haha. There's not much faults to it except maybe I didn't expect such a stretchy/body hugging dress. I usually wear a 20 so I'm kind of glad I sized up or else it'd probably cling all over. Also, for some reason, there's lines on the dress where my belly is, that's my tights waist showing I think, and it just shows how really clingy the dress is. (My tights aren't shapewear! :P)

I wish I could say my Valentines day was 100% perfect. It's close but I have two mid-terms tomorrow so for the majority of my weekend and today I spent studying and cramming. How fun. My boyfriend made my day though. He got me flowers and treated me out to a nice dinner. Of course, a nice restaurant means an excuse to dress less casually.

Everything on this outfit is thrifted except my mothers pearl necklaces and the tights are from Addition-Elle.

My boyfriends shirt is like 2 sizes too big on him, haha!

I didn't want to go all-out. I wanted to use a nice dress while still keeping my style with having my polka-dotted cardigan. The only ~red in my outfit was the shoes. Which, by the way, wasn't so bad considering the slushy snow here we've been having. So here's some pictures from today and the past weekend, enjoy!
